‘Discovery’s “Taking Fire” offers a shocking view of life on the front lines — using footage from soldiers’ helmet cams. The docuseries was shot by members of the 101st Airborne Division deployed to Afghanistan’s Korangal Valley (nicknamed the “valley of death”) in 2010. The second episode airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. with moments that are so harrowing they border on unwatchable. A sniper shoots one of the platoon’s medics in the neck, and the unit’s back-up medic, Kyle Boucher, must step in to save the man’s life.’
